Welcome Back Green Initiative!

My name is Preneet Sandhu, and I am the Communications Coordinator for this school year! Our newsletters will be posted biweekly, so be on the lookout to learn about our upcoming events and opportunities :)

About Green Initiative:

Green Initiative is a student-led organization with the mission to promote sustainability on campus and in the Birmingham community. Our three pillars are

service: volunteering and making a difference in the community
activism: raising awareness around sustainability-related issues and legislation
education: teaching the importance of sustainability and ways to implement it in our daily lives

A Final Take Away:

As we begin the semester, I want to share some green tips to implement into our day-to-day, so we can all begin practicing sustainability together!

Before getting enticed by new school supplies, try to reuse and repurpose old ones

Utilize Blazer Express, bikes, or even enjoy the walk

Remember to turn off lights and unplug outlets as you leave your dorm

Trade your plastic water bottles in for a reusable one
